I've been reflecting on how far I've come with my education. It was hard convincing the university to allow me in. I applied and wrote a cover letter. I even called a million times to follow up. I had to explain to them why I had a GED from the state that no longer requires students to be proficient in reading, writing and math to graduate. I also had a 1.0 GPA in college too... I showed them my track record of success and independence and told them I WILL excel in their school. They then accepted me and I have been keeping straight A's ever since. A+ in some courses. I sit here today and look back at the fact that all I was missing was the ability to trust my own instincts. Once I did that, everything changed for me. I wish I saw my potential sooner and I wish that those old feelings didn't come up as often as they do. It took a lot to push past all the thoughts running in my head when I applied for college. Like, "you're too old", "what makes you think you'll be able to succeed at this when you failed epically every time before?", etc. If you guys are struggling with something due to confidence or fear of failure, don't let it hinder you.
